As many of you will be aware, legislation was put in place back in June 2020 which gave private companies and LLPs an automatic three month filing extension to file their accounts at Companies House.
This automatic extension is valid if your filing deadline falls anytime from 27th June 2020 to 5th April 2021.
In practical terms, any private company or LLP with a year end of 30th June 2020 qualifies for the automatic extension, taking their deadline from 31st March 2021 to 30th June 2021.
However, any private company or LLP with a year end of 31st July 2020 does not qualify and therefore must file by 30th April 2021.
If you are filing the first set of accounts, or your Accounting Reference Date (ARD) has recently been shortened or extended, please check with us whether any automatic extension has been applied.
