Changes to the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme

Having been with us in various forms since March 2020, from 1 August 2021 to 30 September 2021 the rules surrounding the CJRS have changed, before the scheme ends for good from 1 October 2021.

For August and September 2021, you can claim 60% of wages up to a maximum cap of £1,875 for the hours the employee is on furlough.

For claims from 1 August 2021, employers must top up employees’ wages to make sure they receive 80% of their wages (up to £2,500) for the hours they are on furlough.

The CJRS will then end from 1 October 2021.

Claims for August 2021 must be submitted by 14 September 2021.

Claims for September 2021 must be submitted by 14 October 2021.
