By 2022, all UK companies with over 500 employees and all listed companies were required to report under the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) requirements.
By 2023, all listed companies needed to provide a clear explanation of how their governance and strategy consider climate-related risks and opportunities.
In 2024, all listed and large private companies will need to disclose their approach towards managing climate-related risks and opportunities.
By 2027, if not sooner, the scope of the TCFD requirements will extend to all medium and large companies and LLPs. These companies will need to disclose their approach towards managing climate-related risks and opportunities.
The timeline may vary as it is subject to consultation and the legislative process.
