Audit Manager
I trained and qualified ACA in 1991 with a top 6 accounting firm in Northamptonshire. On qualification, I worked for 4 years as a motor dealership accountant before returning to private practice. I have worked at various levels within smaller practices over the years in accountancy and audit.
In 2000, I joined the Audit Commission where I spent 13 happy years auditing large local authorities, NHS Trusts and NHS Commissioning Bodies. Sadly, the government of the day chose to abolish the Audit Commission and relocate those audits to the private sector, largely to firms in the top 6.
Since then, I have worked as manager on audits of academy schools and companies in a variety of industries from specialist manufacturing to outdoor music festival catering. I also had 5 years at a top 6 firm auditing my old friends – large unitary authorities and NHS Trusts.
Following Leicester City Football Club home and away is a family affair for me, my husband and my adult son who has autism and complex needs.
I accompany my son to numerous non-league football matches and “ground hops” during the winter months, and cricket matches in the summer.
My other interests, when I have the time, include reading, and crafting, particularly paper craft, but I love to try out new crafts such as needle felting, screen printing and painting.
