Not the end of an era for double-cab pick-ups?

Quicker than a handbrake turn in a Bond Film, on the 19th February HMRC changed their stance on double-cab pick-ups…

HMRC released their ‘new’ guidance on the 12th February to state that double-cab pick-ups will be treated as cars from the 1st July however, following an outcry from farmers and the motor industry HMRC have had an Oops moment and realised that the move does not support businesses.

On the afternoon of the 19th February HMRC announced that the new guidance will be withdrawn. Meaning everything is back to normal… for now, as the government will change the law at the next available finance bill. So there could be more news in the next budget on the 6th March.
